JOHN KIELY

John grew up in Queens, NY and lives in northern NJ. He discovered acting at the age of 46 while driving his son to rehearsals for a local production of "Oliver". The group needed an adult male who could sing in the ensemble, and he had to be there anyway, so his acting journey began. John is active in several theatre groups including Bergen County Players, Antrim Players, and the Leonia Players Guild.

Favorite roles include Len Hoch in Book of Days, Bellamy in The Fantasticks, Banquo in Macbeth, Fleming in Line, and most recently Jim Swain in Riverside Drive.

John also plays guitar and sings in a cover band of 1960’s refugees called Red Apple Rest.

John has studied with Bruce Ornstein since February 2011, and is grateful for the opportunity to work with a group of such incredibly generous and talented actors.
